Nearly 100,000 mobile technology innovators, policymakers and business leaders from 202
countries and territories converged for the 2023 Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona.
A resurgent Mobile World Congress (MWC), held again, featuring over 2,000 exhibitors from the
mobile ecosystem and beyond, including Terragon, Africa’s leading data and marketing
technology company.
Terragon was hosted by global technology giants, Orange, to showcase Africa’s unique, leading
and largest cloud data-powered marketing cloud ecosystem – the Terragon Marketing Cloud;
which features data management, enrichment and customer engagement solutions; and is
currently in use by over 20 Enterprises and almost 10,000 SMBs across various verticals.
Speaking on the company’s participation at the event and return to the MWC, Terragon’s Vice
President, Marketing and Strategy, Osarugue Awani noted that discussions around digital
transformation though data, marketing technology and cloud technology in Africa, is incomplete
without Terragon. She stated that Terragon’s partnership with Orange and other regional and
global partners, and its participation at the MWC would advance its African Cloud SaaS agenda.
“We’ve consistently featured at the MWC since 2015; this time with the launch of our Marketing
Cloud, it was important for us to meet and engage our multinational partners and clients at this
global event such as AWS, Microsoft, Meta, Infobip, Gupshup, Snowflake and more.
Working with global tech partners within our ecosystem, we are actively looking to expand and
make our services available to customers in other African markets. At the MWC we were able to
showcase our unique marketing SaaS solution to Mr. Brelotte Ba, the Deputy CEO of Orange
Middle East and Africa, highlighting our unique solution which Orange subscribers across their
OpCos can benefit from.”
“We’ve been working with Orange and other regional and global partners including Microsoft,
MTN and Meta to build what has now become Africa’s unique, leading and largest data-
powered marketing cloud ecosystem. The availability of this marketing cloud ecosystem for
African businesses will lead to the seamless implementation of data-driven marketing, intelligent
customer engagement and consequently increased business growth.
Today we are delivering almost 1 billion “messaging events” which are event-based messages
and profile enrichment for Clients.
We would like to thank Orange for their continued collaboration and affirm our commitment to
delivering on the mandate of our partnership.”
Speaking more on the company’s regional and global partnerships,
“In October, last year, we were at GITEX global in Dubai where we created the narrative around
Africa’s Cloud SaaS technology. We were hosted by Microsoft whose Africa Transformation
Office works with partners like ourselves to enable Africa’s digital transformation. We followed
up with a joint workshop at our Lagos office which had in attendance a strong team from
Microsoft’s Nigerian, Egypt, UAE, Senegal, and Kenyan offices, led by Kunle Awosika (MD of
the Microsoft Africa Transformation Office) and Terragon’s senior management team across our
offices in Nigeria, Kenya and India.
Also, in December last year, we participated with 11 other portfolio companies at the 2022
Orange Ventures Demo Day, held at the Orange Digital Center in Cairo. We had meetings with
Orange executives including Christel Heydemann, CEO of Orange Group, Jérôme Hénique,
CEO of Orange Middle East and Africa, Yasser Shaker, CEO of Orange Egypt, where we
discussed market expansion and growth opportunities in Egypt.”
Recalling Terragon’s debut at the MWC in 2015, Awani heralded Terragon’s growth over the
years.
“In 2015, when we debuted at the MWC, we unveiled ‘Adrenaline’, our proprietary Telco data
monetisation and mobile advertising platform, a first in Africa and since then, we have
developed several other proprietary solutions and have helped over 10,000 businesses in 5 key
markets across Africa to connect intelligently with their customers. Today, other markets, for
instance Europe, are thinking about a Telco AdTech joint venture, similar to our Adrenaline.”
Terragon is Africa’s leading data and marketing technology company that leverages DATA and
technology to help brands intelligently reach, engage and deliver more meaningful experiences
to African consumers on mobile.
